Hadith 19 of 42

Title

Guard Allah, He will guard you

Translation

Guard Allah and He will guard you. Guard Allah and you will find Him in front of you. When you ask, ask Allah; when you seek help, seek it from Allah. Know that if the entire Ummah gathered to benefit you with something, they could not benefit you except with what Allah has written for you; and if they gathered to harm you with something, they could not harm you except with what Allah has written against you. The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried.

Commentary

The Prophet's ﷺ counsel to a boy — and through him, to every anxious heart. Guard Allah's limits and He guards your worldly interests. Trust is not passivity: you still ask, you still act, but you know where the outcome lives.
