مواقيت الصلاة في Yogyakarta

Prayer times for Yogyakarta, Indonesia are computed with the MWL calculation method at coordinates -7.80°S, 110.37°E, in the Asia/Jakarta timezone. MWL is a widely used convention for deriving Fajr and Isha angles; if your local mosque follows a different standard, you can switch methods or adjust the Asr madhab via Settings. Times are astronomical — recalculated daily based on the sun's position — and accurate to within a minute for most locations.

الصلوات الخمس

Fajr

الفجر

Al-Fajr

The dawn prayer, offered in the quiet hours before sunrise. Two rak'ahs, and the first of the five obligatory prayers of the day.

Dhuhr

الظهر

Az-Zuhr

The midday prayer, performed shortly after the sun passes its zenith. Four rak'ahs, marking the middle of the working day.

Asr

العصر

Al-'Asr

The afternoon prayer. The Shafi, Maliki, and Hanbali madhabs set Asr when an object's shadow equals its own length; the Hanafi madhab waits until the shadow is twice that length.

Maghrib

المغرب

Al-Maghrib

The sunset prayer, offered immediately after the sun dips below the horizon. Three rak'ahs, and also the start of a new Islamic day.

Isha

العشاء

Al-'Ishā'

The night prayer, performed once twilight disappears from the sky. Four rak'ahs, closing the daily cycle of prayer.

أسئلة شائعة

What calculation method fits Yogyakarta best?+
Yogyakarta uses the MWL method by default. Muslim World League (MWL) is a safe global default. If your local religious authority publishes a timetable, compare a few times — if they differ by more than a minute, try switching to ISNA, Egyptian, Karachi, Makkah, or another preset in Settings until you match.
Why do prayer times shift each day?+
Prayer times are tied to the sun's position in the sky — sunrise, zenith, and sunset. As Earth moves through its orbit, those events drift by a minute or two most days, and more noticeably around the equinoxes and seasonal transitions. That's why a fixed timetable only works for a single calendar year.
What's the difference between Shafi and Hanafi for Asr?+
Asr is the only prayer whose time depends on the madhab (school of jurisprudence). Shafi, Maliki, and Hanbali schools set Asr when an object's shadow equals its own length. The Hanafi school waits until the shadow doubles — typically 40 to 60 minutes later. You can toggle between the two in Settings.
Why does the Hijri date sometimes differ from my local mosque?+
The Hijri date here is calculated using the tabular Islamic calendar (astronomical). Many communities follow a moon-sighting authority whose ruling may land one day earlier or later. Use the Hijri adjustment control in Settings to shift ±3 days and match your local convention.
How accurate are these calculated times?+
For Singapore + MUIS, they match the official published timetable exactly. For all other locations, calculations use the adhan library (the standard open-source implementation of traditional astronomical methods) and are accurate to within a minute. If your mosque prints times that differ, switching the calculation method in Settings is usually the cause.
Can I use my own location?+
Yes. Tap the location name in the title, then either "Use my current location" (grants one-time browser permission) or pick a city from the preset list. Your selection persists across visits.
