Definition
Fasting — abstaining from food, drink and marital relations from Fajr to Maghrib with intention.
Example
Farḍ in Ramadan; sunnah on Mondays, Thursdays, the 13-14-15th of each lunar month, ʿĀshūrāʾ and ʿArafah.
