Title

Forgiveness for mistakes

Arabic

إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَجَاوَزَ عَنْ أُمَّتِي الْخَطَأَ وَالنِّسْيَانَ وَمَا اسْتُكْرِهُوا عَلَيْهِ.

Translation

Allah has pardoned my Ummah for mistakes, forgetfulness, and what they are coerced into doing.

Commentary

A foundational legal maxim: liability is tied to intention and choice. Forget to make wuḍūʾ and pray? Repeat it and no sin. Compelled to say a word of disbelief under threat? Not held against you. The heart is the judge.
