Praises of Allah.

The phrases the Prophet ﷺ named as heaviest on the Scale and most beloved to ar-Raḥmān — Subḥān Allāh wa-bi-ḥamdih, Subḥān Allāh al-ʿAẓīm, and the tasbīḥ that wipes the foam of the sea in sins.

    Subḥāna Allāhi wa biḥamdih ×100

    ×100

    سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ

    Subḥāna Allāhi wa biḥamdih.

    Glory be to Allah and His is the praise.

    Virtue

    Sins are forgiven even if they were like the foam of the sea. Whoever says it in the morning and evening has paid the full dues of the day.

    Two beloved phrases

    سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ — سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ الْعَظِيمِ

    Subḥāna Allāhi wa biḥamdih — Subḥāna Allāhil-ʿAẓīm.

    Glory be to Allah and His is the praise — Glory be to Allah, the Most Great.

    Virtue

    Two phrases light on the tongue, heavy on the Scale, beloved to the Most Merciful.

    Lā ilāha illAllāh ×100

    ×100

    لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

    Lā ilāha illAllāhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu wa huwa ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīr.

    There is no god but Allah alone, without partner; His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is over all things omnipotent.

    Virtue

    Equal to freeing ten slaves, 100 good deeds written, 100 sins erased, protected from Shayṭān all day.

    Subḥāna Allāhi in number of creation

    سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ عَدَدَ خَلْقِهِ، وَرِضَا نَفْسِهِ، وَزِنَةَ عَرْشِهِ، وَمِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِهِ

    Subḥāna Allāhi wa biḥamdihī ʿadada khalqih, wa riḍā nafsih, wa zinata ʿarshih, wa midāda kalimātih.

    Glory be to Allah and His is the praise — in the number of His creation, to the extent of His pleasure, to the weight of His Throne, and in the ink of His words.

    Virtue

    Umm Salamah ؓ said the Prophet ﷺ recited this after Fajr and it outweighed all her night's dhikr.

    Alḥamdu lillāh

    اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ

    Al-ḥamdu lillāh.

    All praise is for Allah.

    Virtue

    It fills the Scale. The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Ṭuhūr is half of iman, al-ḥamdu lillāh fills the Scale.'

    Istighfār ×100

    ×100

    أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ

    Astaghfiru Allāh.

    I seek forgiveness from Allah.

    Virtue

    The Prophet ﷺ said: 'By Allah, I seek forgiveness and repent to Allah more than seventy times a day.'

    Tasbīḥ Fāṭimī

    سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ — اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ — اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ

    Subḥāna Allāh (×33) · Al-ḥamdu lillāh (×33) · Allāhu Akbar (×34)

    Glory be to Allah (×33) · All praise is for Allah (×33) · Allah is the Greatest (×34)

    Virtue

    Better than a servant. Heavier on the Scale than everything you desire.

    Lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata

    لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ

    Lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh.

    There is no power and no might except with Allah.

    Virtue

    A treasure from the treasures of Paradise.

    Allāhu Akbar

    اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ كَبِيرًا، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ كَثِيرًا، وَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا

    Allāhu Akbaru kabīrā, wal-ḥamdu lillāhi kathīrā, wa subḥāna Allāhi bukratan wa aṣīlā.

    Allah is Most Great in the greatest way. All praise in abundance is for Allah. Glory be to Allah in the morning and the evening.

    Virtue

    A companion said these words before the prayer began and the Prophet ﷺ said: 'I saw twelve angels racing to record it first.'

    Morning & Evening dhikr

    سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ

    Subḥāna Allāhi wa biḥamdih.

    Glory be to Allah and His is the praise.

    Virtue

    Whoever says it 100 times in the morning and evening, no one on the Day of Resurrection will bring anything better — except one who says the same or more.

    This is the same phrase as ×100 above, but the virtue here specifically covers the morning and evening session.

    Best of dhikr

    لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ

    Lā ilāha illAllāh.

    There is no god but Allah.

    Virtue

    The best dhikr is Lā ilāha illAllāh; the best duʿā is Al-ḥamdu lillāh.
