Definition
Residual heirs — those who inherit what remains after the fixed shares are paid, typically male agnatic relatives.
Example
If the deceased leaves a daughter (1/2) and a son, the daughter takes 1/2 by farḍ; the son takes the remainder as ʿaṣabah.
