Zakāt al-Fiṭr

Definition

Obligatory charity of food given by every Muslim before the ʿĪd al-Fiṭr prayer.

Example

Approximately one ṣāʿ (~2.5 kg) of the staple food per household member; paid in kind or its cash value.
