About this converter
The Hijri (Islamic) calendar is a lunar calendar of 12 months totalling 354 or 355 days — roughly 11 days shorter than the Gregorian year. Because of this drift, Islamic events like Ramadan and Eid move backwards through the Gregorian year by about 11 days each year.
This tool uses the astronomical Umm al-Qura calculation. Many Muslim communities follow local moon sighting instead, so the start of a month may fall one day earlier or later than shown here. Treat this as a reference, not a ruling.
